Now Stocked at TCH, Adels-Contact Eurostyle Screw Terminal Blocks

  • 3 min read

TCH now stocks a focused range of Adels-Contact Eurostyle screw terminal blocks to support OEMs, panel builders, and aftermarket suppliers that need dependable screw-clamp wire terminations across a practical range of pitches and current levels. This launch starts with five core 12-pole DS series part numbers selected to cover common application requirements in lighting, HVAC, building services, control equipment, and electrical assemblies.

Terminal blocks are simple components, but they affect assembly speed, wiring consistency, service access, and long-term connection reliability. Adels-Contact screw terminal blocks are designed for detachable conductor connections using a brass current path inside a polyamide housing. The stripped conductor is inserted and clamped by a screw, creating a secure electrical connection suited for solid, stranded, and fine-stranded conductors. In the DS versions, a wire protection spring helps shield fine strands from screw damage during termination.

For engineers, that means cleaner specification work across multiple current ranges and pitches. For buyers, that means a standardized family from one manufacturer, supported by TCH stocking and local service.

TCH’s initial range covers five 12-pole DS terminal blocks:

  • 230/12 DS, 8.0 mm pitch

Designed for lower-current applications, this model is rated 300V CSA and UL, with 20A CSA and 30A UL current ratings. It accepts 24-12 AWG CSA and 22-12 AWG UL conductors.
  • 500/12 35 DS, 10.0 mm pitch

This option keeps the same 20A CSA and 30A UL ratings, while moving to a 10.0 mm pitch and a larger clamping range up to 5.5 mm².
  • 1000/12 DS, 12.0 mm pitch

A step up in capacity, this series is rated 40A CSA and 40A UL, with a 6.0 mm² European cross-section rating and conductor range of 24-10 AWG CSA and 22-10 AWG UL.
  • 1500/12 DS, 13.5 mm pitch

This series moves into heavier-duty wiring, rated 55A CSA and 40A UL, with 10.0 mm² European cross-section capacity and 18-8 AWG CSA and UL wire range.
  • 2000/12 DS, 14.5 mm pitch

The largest stocked option in this launch, rated 70A CSA and 65A UL, with a 16.0 mm² European cross-section rating. It also carries a 600V UL rating, making it the highest-capacity part in the initial range.

Four Key characteristics to select the best model.

  1. Pitch. The range covers 8.0 mm, 10.0 mm, 12.0 mm, 13.5 mm, and 14.5 mm, which helps match existing layouts and mounting requirements.
  2. Current and voltage. The series spans from 20A CSA up to 70A CSA, with some variants reaching 600V UL, depending on the model.
  3. Wire range. Across the family, supported wire sizes extend from 24 AWG up to 4 AWG in the broader screw terminal block offering, while the five stocked parts cover the most common mid-range and higher-current needs.
  4. Conductor type. These screw terminal blocks are suitable for solid, stranded, and fine-stranded conductors.

These screw terminal blocks in this family are well-suited for electrical appliances and luminaires, including shop lighting, indoor lighting, enclosure lights, small and large appliances, fans, heaters, air conditioning, pumps, vending machines, and power tools. TCH’s product pages also position the range for lighting, HVAC, building services, and electrical installations.

500/12 35 DS 10.0 mm 20A CSA, 30A UL 24-12 AWG CSA, 22-12 AWG UL Compact pitch with more clamping capacity
1000/12 DS 12.0 mm 40A CSA, 40A UL 24-10 AWG CSA, 22-10 AWG UL Mid-range power and panel wiring
1500/12 DS 13.5 mm 55A CSA, 40A UL 18-8 AWG CSA, 18-8 AWG UL Higher-current equipment wiring
2000/12 DS 14.5 mm 70A CSA, 65A UL 22-4 AWG CSA, 24-6 AWG UL Largest wire range and highest current

All five stocked terminal blocks are 12-pole screw terminal strips with wire protection spring, brass contacts, and PA nylon housings.
