It might be a tad premature to declare the revolution officially upon us but with exponential growth and adoption of digital industry, interconnected systems being integrated more and more into the value chain and the converging technologies beneath it all, 2017 is a right candidate for a clear turning point in the shift to the 'smart factory'.
